#15 Don't have a big head

Self praise is no praise.

Humble yourself so that others can see your true inner beauty. How much more wonderful would it be if you receive a compliment without ever trying to get one. Remain meek at heart and others will notice your strengths.

#14 Be the bigger person

Don't imitate others, be the bigger person.

As children, when we were in the midst of playing with our friends or siblings and one of the other children did something wrong to us, well, we just had to do it back, of course. But no matter how good our case was both of us would be in trouble. We would defend ourselves and say, "But, sheeeeeeeeeeeee started it." My mom didn't care. Her response, "I don't care he did it first, you don't have to do it back, you should be the bigger person." This reminds me of what I call "driver's revenge, roarrrrrrrr" When we are on the road and we get cut off by a crazy driver or we look in the rear view mirror and see someone on our butt, we almost always gets into what I call "driver's revenge, roarrrrrrrr." It's a jungle out there. You would think by the time we got our licenses we would be mature enough to be able to just let it go and move on with our life, but nope, our adult response, he must pay!

Christianity
But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. -Luke 6:27-28

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. -Romans 12:14

If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.

#13 Don't Judge

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes.

This is probably the hardest thing to avoid. We often judge others and focus too much of our energy on the faults of others instead of focusing on fixing ourselves.

Be in control.

Take charge!

Being a leader means being able to create new ideas and taking initiative. Being a leader is not about standing back and being a spectator. A leader is self sufficient in any situation. Leaders are in control of their own destiny.

#7 Not to Worry

Everything is going to be alright.

Don't worry, Be happy.

In the end it will be ok, if its not ok, its not the end.

Toddlers have tantrums over bath time, drinking from the wrong cup or over a toy in a store. As adults, we all suffer from stress, anxiety, worry or fear at some point in our life and in extreme cases all the time. What if I lose my job? How will I pay my mortgage? I have more things to do than time in the day. How am I going to raise my children under these circumstances? We have adult tantrums. If we are not careful stress can take over who we are and who we are to become. Who ever solved a problem by worrying?

Christianity
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:6-7

Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? -Mathew 6:25 -27

#6 Be Nice

If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything.

Growing up we were scolded for putting someone down, not saying please or thank you, or for being downright nasty. Do we take the time to stop and listen at how we speak to our spouses, brothers, sisters, friends or even strangers on the street.

The greatest work that kindness does to others is that it makes them kind themselves. -Amelia Earhart

Kind words can be short and easy to speak but their echoes are truly endless. -Mother Teresa

#5 Believe in yourself

You can be anything you want to be.

Like Attracts Like.

How many of us tell ourselves we can't do something, before we even try? We are all told to believe in ourselves and reach for the stars starting from when someone first read us the story "The Little Engine that Could." Somewhere along the way we somehow ignored all that and decided to convince ourselves we are exempt from this rule. That everyone else around us can accomplish anything they desired, but when it came to believing in what we can do we say, me, no, i can't do that!

Laws of Attraction
Believe. Believe in the accomplishment with strong faith, consciously and subconsciously.

Feel and behave as if the object of one's desire is already acquired.

Be open to receiving it.

#3 Give to the poor

Help those in need.

"We get to carry each other, carry each other ... " - U2

We are told time and time again to give to those who are in need. It is easy to become engulfed in our day to day life and neglect this timeless, universal rule. We may feel we want to help, but never getting around to dedicating our resources to others. Helping the less fortunate is not a one time deal thing, however a constant desire to give back and always look for opportunities to help someone who needs it. Hey, you never know when one day you may at the end of the receiving stick. Wouldn't you wish someone sought out helping you?

Christianity
One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. Proverbs 11:24

So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7

He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury. And He saw a poor widow putting in two small copper coins. And He said, "Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all of them; for they all out of their surplus put into the offering; but she out of her poverty put in all that she had to live on."- Luke 21:1-4

But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly. Mathew 6:3-4

Buddhism
The greatest quality is seeking to serve others.

It leads to bodhisattva conduct that enhances self-confidence and courage,
And is the basis for universal proclamation of your fame and repute.
Realizing this, the wise rely, in a healthy manner, on the outstanding path
Of (being ever-willing) to offer completely their bodies, possessions, and positive potentials.
The ever-vigilant lama has practiced like that.
If you too would seek liberation,
Please cultivate yourself in the same way

#2 Eat your vegetables

Eat To Live - Not Live To Eat

Before the crisis of obesity, the spread of diabetes and high blood pressure and other food related disease, mothers with no or even little education told their children to eat their vegetables daily. Boy, I wish we listened!

Wikipedia
In some Christian denominations, it is considered one of the seven deadly sins—a misplaced desire of food or its withholding from the needy.

We live in a world with supermarkets that have aisles dedicated to potato chips, candy and soda.
We have so many wrong food choices tempting us; making it easier and easier to fall into the trap of health problems. Be conscience of what you eat. The benefits of eating vegetables are all over the Internet and we all are well aware of them, however how many of us actually eat the recommended serving of fruit and vegetables on a daily basis. http://www.5aday.org/

How many ensure our children are eating right and teaching good habits to our families?

Christianity
Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat, for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags.” (Proverbs 23:20-21)

“When you sit to dine with a ruler, note well what is before you, and put a knife to your throat if you are given to gluttony.” (Proverbs 23:2)
Judasim
20And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard. -Deuteronomy 21:20
Islam
Eat of the good things we have provided for your sustenance, but commit no excess therein, lest my wrath should justly descend on you, and those upon whom descends my wrath do perish indeed. 20:18
Hinduism
Excessive eating is prejudicial to health, to fame and to bliss in heaven; it prevents the acquisition of spiritual merit, and is odious among men.

#1 The Golden Rule

The Golden rule
"Treat others as you want to be treated."

According to Wikipedia: "It is arguably the most essential basis for the modern concept of human rights."

The golden rule is prophesied in many different religions across the world and promoted by many philosophers alike. I haven't heard of a single person or a group of people disputing the rule in anyway. Mutual respect from one another is a human need. It is simple rule and leaves no room for interpretation. It holds benefits to the giver and the receiver. Despite it's simplicity and shared viewpoint among our brothers and sisters across the world, it is so darn easier said than done and we constantly should check ourselves to ensure we are doing our part.

"Every religion emphasizes human improvement, love, respect for others, sharing other people's suffering. On these lines every religion had more or less the same viewpoint and the same goal." The Dali Lama

Christianity
Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. Mathew 7:12
